Ever since Prometheus dared to give intelligence to man, humans too have aspired to create life themselves. I too have dared, and have forth created the Jeremy bot: a Discord bot meant to emulate the worst parts of myself.

Features

The bot has various features that emulated my degenerate 2020 self. It has modes that:

Simulates the whines I make while playing video games
Simulates the grunts I make while programming
Plays sections 26-28 of the Old Testament's Genesis (narrated by yours truely)
Plays a song about beans

I have since added additional features, but I forget what they are and I'm too lazy to check for this throwaway project.

Tech Stack

This Discord bot was built in JavaScript with the Slappey tool/package. It was quite easy, but since then Discord has revamped their entire API, which means development today would be pretty much completely different.

All of the audio files are hosted on a Linux server hosted by DigitalOcean that I also happen to use for DicTater. I simply SSH in to add them.

I have built an additional Discord bot for work because of my experience with Jeremy Bot, and it has given some onlookers some laughs, so it was definitely worth it.
